Ebbtide’s announced helicopter troop transport includes moving troops in helicopter convoys, fast-roping troops from Black Hawks, and landing helicopters on rooftops to deploy squads. These features offer ways to move forces across Los Angeles and insert them onto the battlefield. The official Steam listing lists the game as “Coming soon,” so these are announced capabilities.

Troop movement and deployment options

The listing describes transport at both the operations-map and battlefield levels:

OptionAnnounced role
Helicopter convoysCarry troops, supplies, or refugees across the operations map.
Black Hawk fast-ropingDeploy troops by rope from Black Hawks.
Rooftop landingsLand helicopters on rooftops and deploy squads.
Evacuation operationsPull out units and survivors cut off behind the lines before the horde reaches them.

Black Hawks are specifically named for fast-roping. Apache and Viper helicopters are separately identified as attack helicopters, making the Black Hawk the named aircraft to look for when considering troop insertion.

The game also promises direct helicopter control through TAB. The listing does not provide a boarding or deployment command sequence.

What matters when planning a helicopter transport

Low hovering exposes helicopters to the horde. Zombies are described as being able to cling to helicopters hovering close to the ground. That makes the aircraft’s position during an insertion or pickup a relevant concern.

Fuel and ammunition depend on held bases. Aircraft consume fuel and ammunition and can rearm and refuel only at bases you control. Base access therefore matters when planning air operations.

Convoys can come under attack. The Nexus can ambush convoys and hunt stranded units. The announced warning system gives you notice before an attack, with options to reroute, retreat, or call in fire support from the map.

Helicopters also have a separate logistics role: they can carry building materials by sling to support base construction. That gives air transport uses beyond moving squads, particularly when supplying positions whose road connections are threatened.
