Ebbtide’s announced base-building system will let you choose a location, build HESCO and concrete walls, add gates and defensive scaffolding, and place weapons and supply facilities. Building materials must arrive by hooklift truck or helicopter sling, while bases you hold will provide the ammunition and fuel your forces need to keep fighting.

The official Steam listing currently lists Ebbtide as “Coming soon.” These are announced features for the upcoming zombie survival strategy game.

What you can build

The announced forward operating base structures cover perimeter defenses, weapons, and logistics:

StructureAnnounced purpose or context
HESCO and concrete wallsEstablish the base’s defensive perimeter; walls require delivered building materials.
GatesAdd entrances to the perimeter.
ScaffoldingSupport defense of the walls.
Gun nests, CIWS, and mortar pitsAdd defensive weapons to the base.
Ammo depot and fuel pointSupply facilities included in the base-building system.
LightingAn additional base element you can place.

The central requirement is access to supplies. Soldiers, vehicles, and aircraft consume ammunition and fuel, and the announced system allows them to rearm and refuel only at bases you hold. That makes a forward operating base a place to sustain operations as well as defend territory.

Material deliveries and supply routes

Every wall will need building materials hauled in by hooklift truck or helicopter sling. Construction therefore depends on getting cargo to the site.

That creates a practical planning priority: consider how a proposed base will receive supplies alongside where its defenses will stand. Ebbtide’s Nexus-controlled horde is described as ambushing convoys, cutting roads, and besieging bases. A road connection can become a target, and continued resupply matters after construction because your forces keep consuming ammunition and fuel.

The operations map will also support truck and helicopter convoys carrying supplies, troops, or refugees. The listing says attacks will come with a warning, giving you an opportunity to reroute, retreat, or call in fire support from the map.

What to consider when planning a base

The announced mechanics suggest three useful priorities:

  • Material access: Plan around deliveries by hooklift truck or helicopter sling so construction materials can reach the site.
  • Sustained operations: Account for the ammunition and fuel needs of the forces operating from your held bases.
  • Perimeter defense: Combine walls with the announced defensive structures while remembering that zombies are described as piling up to climb walls and rooftops.

These priorities follow from the announced systems, rather than a tested build order. The key relationship is clear: materials enable construction, defenses help protect the position, and continued supply keeps the forces using that base operational.
